New technologies are already making massive changes to the financial sector and professionals in Luxembourg are gearing up to ensure the country maintains its competitive edge. SnT’s PayPal-FNR PEARL Chair in Fintech, Prof Gilbert Fridgen, understands the complexities involved with disruptive technologies in Fintech and recently sat down with Paperjam to discuss what triggers innovation and how to prepare for it.

The interview was published yesterday as part of Paperjam’s latest Grand Dossier, this installment focusing on Fintech and Regtech. You can find it here.

In it Fridgen explains how customer expectations for financial services have changed because of the rapid service delivery they see in other industries, and what companies should consider in order to respond to these changes. Whether the topic is Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), financial service providers need to be ready to use these new technologies to their benefit. Fridgen then concludes by discussing the capabilities that professionals should be investing in, in order to ensure their profile is competitive in the coming years.
