Three exciting weeks on the Supply Chain Conference at the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This Boston event is a key component of the Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM).

The first cohort has kicked off our participation with a phenomenal demonstration of excellence, bringing home a number of prizes.

Erin You Wu was a member of the winning team in the Fresh Connection competition, thereby becoming a MIT SCALE Champion while demonstrating superb strategic and tactical choices required for a (virtual) retail company to outperform competitors.

A team of LCL students — Elvin Mursalov, Iordan Bokov, and Gabriel Balbino — have won the honorable mention for their poster presentation, showcasing their excellence in communicating their industry project clearly and in an attractive manner.

Another poster presentation has attracted the attention of the media — the project by Nooree Ahuja and Kirsten Burt titled “The Digital Supply Chain” — was featured in the Supply Chain Management Review.

Throughout the three weeks, students have honed their skills and expertise by taking short courses on leadership and speciality topics such as service parts logistics (taught by the LSCM Study Director, Professor retailing operations), green supply chains, and Joachim Arts.

Students have deepened their knowledge of key industries by attending a series of industry and MIT speakers (featuring companies such as BASF, Uber Freight, and Adidas) and visiting numerous facilities (such as Walgreens distribution center and Amazon Fresh).

Ultimately, students have enlarged their professional network, expanded their friendships by meeting with their peers from across the MIT SCALE network which consists of more than 200 master students and more than 1000 alumni.

Now, the students are back in Luxembourg for the summer semester that will be mainly devoted to the finalisation of their master thesis that will be presented at the Research Fest on 28 June.
