Five international expert guests will share their expertise and perspectives.

Professor William M. Sage, MD, JD, University of Texas School of Law (Austin)

James R. Dougherty Chair for Faculty Excellence in the School of Law and Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care in the Dell Medical School.

Professsor Sage served as UT Austin’s first Vice Provost for Health Affairs and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, on the board of Health Care Services; he is a graduate of Harvard College and Stanford Medical and Law Schools.

Professor Sage will address the big picture from across the Pond of how U.S. governance and the U.S. health system design have affected a lot of the COVID response, as well as the medical supply chain dependence on China.

Michel Schuetz, Romain Labé and Cédric Zawarski will share a real time perspective and discuss the challenges and strategies faced during the COVID 19 crisis. Romain worked 5 years in industry supply chain as Process Engineer, Customer Logistics Operations Management, Europe Supply Chain Operations Management (Procter & Gamble ; Laboratoires Bailleul (French pharmaceutical laboratory)). He currently works as Supply Chain Manager at Santé Services (administrative company of Foundation Hopitaux Robert Schuman) since one year. His main tasks cover:

 – Automation of traceability for medical devices

 – Lean Management

 – Project Management (Standardisation of “surgery logistic” operations, implementation of a new warehouse, Sourcing and Standardisation of PPE for Covid19).

Cédric worked for 12 years in the industry, mainly for Goodyear, as Process Engineer, Production Control Manager, Supply Chain Manager.

He currently works at Hopitaux Robert Schuman as Supply Chain Manager since one year. His main tasks cover:

 – Inventory management in the HRS pharmacy

 – Lean Management in hospital environment

 – Project Management (implementation of a securised drugs flow inside the hospital).

Mr Stavros Evangelakakis, Cargolux Airlines, Head of Global Healthcare at Cargolux Airlines, and Chairman of the Cool Chain Association

Mr Stavros Evangelakakis is the Head of Global Healthcare at Cargolux Airlines and the Chairman of the Cool Chain Association. Cargolux, based in Luxembourg, is Europe’s largest all-cargo airline. “Cool Chain” or “Temperature-Sensitive Supply Chain” refers to the subset of the total supply chain that involves the production, storage and distribution of products that require some level of temperature control in order to retain their key characteristics and associated value including pharmaceutical & healthcare products.
