For new students, starting life on campus can be as exciting as intimidating. During the Welcome Day, the University provides them with the information they need and the opportunity to meet their peers.

Where can I have lunch? Which sports are offered? Where are my classes? Do I need to register to borrow books? Will I find friends? These are just a few of the urgent questions that new students have on their mind.

Whether they are from Luxembourg or come from abroad to study here, students arrive with keen expectations and they are looking forward to starting their new life on campus. The Welcome Day helps them to familiarise themselves with the infrastructure, services, and to feel at ease in their new environment.

At the Welcome Day 2019, close to 1.000 visitors, mainly new Bachelor and Master students, were welcomed with the traditional breakfast and a Welcome pack containing useful information and gifts. At information stands, staff members, student volunteers and associations discussed activities and practical information with visitors, while the information session included a personal welcome by the rector, Prof. Stéphane Pallage and vice-rector for academic affairs Prof. Catherine Léglu.

After a well-deserved BBQ at lunch, the afternoon was dedicated to games and challenges at the Incubator of the University, during which they discovered the University’s Entrepreneurship programme and services of the incubator. During guided tours of the Luxembourg Learning Centre and the Belval Campus, visitors had the opportunity to discover among other the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants and the University’s library.

The University extends a warm welcome to all new students, and wishes you a wonderful time on campus!
