Physicists and biologists from the University of Luxembourg have recently launched the “Physics meets Biology” website. This initiative combines expertise in condensed matter physics and systems biology to understand living systems from a quantitative and mechanistic perspective.

Twelve researchers are currently involved in the project: six from the Physics and Materials Science Research Unit (PHYMS) and six from the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB).

Major universities are moving in this exiting new direction and the website demonstrates that the University of Luxembourg is joining this effort. It presents the ongoing research activities, the latest scientific news, and advertises our future and past events. In the winter semester 2019, 12 talks by world-renowned experts in biophysics and biological soft matter have already been scheduled.

“We are thrilled to launch this new website and strongly feel that it will serve as a useful and informative portal for the bio-physics community” said Prof. Massimiliano Esposito, one of the main drivers of the Physics meets Biology initiative.
