The University of Luxembourg and the Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL) have joined forces to offer a three-day course in mobility management for companies based in Luxembourg. This pilot project will enable employers to better understand mobility issues within their company and consider alternatives.

The Luxmobil survey carried out by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure from February to May 2017 among residents and cross-border travellers, shows that for commuting, business trip and school transport, the private car is the first means of transport during peak hours, followed by public transport.

Improving employee mobility has become a major challenge for companies to ensure well-being and productivity at work. Indeed, by offering mobility solutions, employees seem less stressed, save time and increase their quality of life. However, there is a lack of a common understanding and language of mobility as well as knowledge of its different aspects and complexity.

A training open to Luxembourg companies

To encourage the recruitment of mobility manager within companies, the MobiLab Transport Research Group of the University of Luxembourg in partnership with the Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL) have developed a new training to give a comprehensive overview of mobility management, to share best practises and provide participants with the theoretical background, concrete examples, tools and key performance indicators. International trainers, guest speakers and managers will share their knowledge and experience in terms of company mobility management.

During the three intensive days, participants will contribute to discussions and interactive exercise sessions. “After the course, participants will be able to understand and use mobility terms correctly, to identify mobility behaviours and needs, to evaluate mobility costs and to define an action plan,” says Professor Francesco Viti who leads MobiLab.

Registration is open

Conducted in English, the training is taking place on 18, 19 and 24 April 2018 at the Hotel Melia in Luxembourg-Kirchberg at a cost of 680€ per person. Places are limited to 15 participants. Register online before 16 March 2018.
