The University of Luxembourg and the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence have just entered into an Agreement on Educational and Scientific Cooperation. Professor Renaud Dehousse, President of the EUI, and Professor Stéphane Pallage, Rector of the University of Luxembourg signed the agreement at a ceremony at the premises of the EUI on 13 July 2018.

The agreement allows for academic staff exchanges, and pledges to collaborate on research initiatives and joint conferences in fields of mutual interest. Furthermore, an annex signed between EUI and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance will facilitate the exchange of Ph.D. candidates between the two universities, in particular in the field of law. Up to two students per year will be able to undertake an exchange, staying at the partner institution for up to six months.

The European University Institute (EUI) is an international centre for doctorate and post-doctorate studies and research, situated in the Tuscan hills overlooking Florence. Since its establishment 40 years ago by the six founding members of the then European Communities, the EUI has earned a reputation as a leading international academic institution with a European focus. The four departments – Economics, History and Civilization, Law, and Political and Social Sciences – host scholars from more than 60 countries, studying for the Institution’s doctorate or the one-year master in law.
