Core course 1: Science and citizens meet challenges of sustainability

An interdisciplinary open course for exploring responsibilities citizens can assume in a knowledge society
The University of Luxembourg is offering a course for exploring challenges of sustainable development, and responsibilities we can assume as citizens and as scientists. The course "Science and Citizens meet Challenges of Sustainability" (SCCS) is open to applications from the public and students from all degree programmes. Participation in the course means joining a diverse learning community with representatives of firms, NGOs, education, government, students and thirteen lecturers from diverse disciplines such as ecology, economy, political science, physics and psychology.
Enrolled participants gain a certificate of participation or 6 ECTS and 4 additional ECTS for peer-group enrollment.
A public lecture series is organized in conjunction with this course.

Languages: Lectures will be held in English. Our lecturers are multilingual and can interact with you in all official languages of the University.
Costs: The course is free of charge for students. Professional participants will pay 50 € fees as a guest auditor or 200 € if the course is taken in the frame of Certificate in Sustainable Development & Social Innovation.
