Raviteja CHEMUDUPATY is a Doctoral Researcher at SnT - Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust, University of Luxembourg. He was born and brought up in Hyderabad (India) where he has completed majority of his studies until bachelor’s. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad in the year 2018. In his bachelor’s he has attended several courses which helped him to gain comprehensive knowledge in product development, design and implementation of engineering systems and services. In addition to his course curriculum, he was also an active member of American Society of Mechanical Engineering’s student chapter (ASME-CBIT). As part of the student chapter, he participated in several projects focusing novel powertrain concepts and alternative energy sources.

After his bachelor’s, he went on to pursue his masters in Germany at University of Freiburg. He received his master’s degree in M.Sc. Sustainable Systems Engineering in the year 2021. The study program was designed in a way that all the students develop their engineering skills in sustainable materials, sustainable energy systems, and resilience engineering, However, he chose sustainable energy systems as his main technical specialization. During latter half of his master studies, he also worked as a student research assistant in Smart Cities department at Fraunhofer ISE. His work focused on analyzing the energy system of Kochi – a potential smart city in India. Later, he also wrote his master thesis at Fraunhofer ISE, which dealt with impact that electric vehicle (EV) charging has on the energy system of Kerala (India) for the year 2030.    

He is currently working on the INDUCTIVE project at FINATRAX. His research focuses on developing a decision-making system to schedule the charging timespan of the EV fleet to optimize the economic benefits while satisfying the customer requirement. To do so, he has been working on developing various controlled charging mechanisms which would allow the energy suppliers to exploit the flexibility potential of EV charging and thus engage in efficient trading. This would help to reduce the reduce the electricity procurement costs and also the customers’ invoice. His further research focus would be on developing a smart EV charging ecosystem.
