On 19 September 2021, the University of Luxembourg welcomed 560 visitors on Kirchberg and Limpertsberg campus sites to discover the laboratories in engineering, space, mobility and physics in the frame of the national event Portes Ouvertes Luxembourg.

The event was organised by staff members, students and researchers from the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT). Visitors really enjoyed their visit and learn more about the research activities carried out at the University of Luxembourg.

On Kichberg campus, visitors had the opportunity to visit engineering, space and mobility laboratories. They could play with drones, handle small satellites, discover 3D printing, travel to the moon, interact with robots, experience zero gravity, understand wastewater treatment, get a glimpse on biomechanical testing and learn more about renewable energy production.

On Limpertsberg campus, visitors could build a hand spectroscope, see a levitating train, play with light, face artificial intelligence, discover properties of solar cells, track molecules, play with colours and explore micro-organisms.
