Space Café Luxembourg is the premier event series gathering the members of the space community in the Grand Duchy. The concept is simple: experts from the space sector present important events, activities or a current hot topic on a certain theme. Before and after the talk, the community comes together to network, discuss and make recommendations fordecision-making. On 9 December 2021, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) will host the first post-pandemic Space Café, dedicated to “T”.he SmallSat Revolution

The Small Satellites Revolution

CubeSats, one of SnT’s lines of research, have been the catalysts for the NewSpace economy. Their agile development approach has spilt over to launcher development, small satellites and ChipSats. At the event, guest speakers Edgar Milic of LuxSpace and Roger Hunter of NASA Ames will intervene on the topic, holding sessions about “The Excitement of Space to Build Up Value and Business Return” and “A Review of NASA’s Small Spacecraft Technology Program”, respectively. Their presentation will be preceded by a session by Rui Zong, a graduate student of the University of Luxembourg’s Interdisciplinary Space Master (ISM). Rui will present GoldCrest, the CubeSat mission study authored by the first cohort of ISM students during the first two semesters in the CubeSatLab course.
