The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at The University of Luxembourg and Technoport have signed a partnership agreement. The goal of this collaboration is to provide business mentoring services to SnT researchers, and to create joint networking opportunities for SnT researchers and the technology companies hosted by Technoport. As a new entrepreneur, it can be normal to lack the resources needed to succeed. Technoport is a technology business incubator that supports innovative local and international start-ups, spin-offs and corporates, and helps bring together entrepreneurs with communities of like-minded people. The partnership will enable SnT researchers to further broaden their skills, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and be able to meet local entrepreneurs who need research expertise.
“Here at SnT, our Acceleration Programme helps our scientists launch high-tech start-ups based on their research results. Technoport’s experience as the longest-standing business incubator in Luxembourg will help our researchers acquire new skills that will stay with them for life, and allow them to successfully commercialise their products. Equally, Technoport supports companies who may need specific technical capabilities to develop their product, skills that our researchers can offer through SnT’s Partnership Programme,” shares Carlo Duprel, Head of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at SnT.
“We are very happy to be able to formalise our partnership with SnT. Their areas of expertise are nicely aligned with not only some of our hosted companies but also with potential newcomers. Today, entrepreneurs are looking for locations that can provide access to an integrated ecosystem, with clear added-values. With this agreement we will be able to market this in a more structured way. On top of that, working with their TTO will be extremely important also to adapt our support services to a specific type of entrepreneurship,” says Diego De Biasio, CEO at Technoport.
Last year saw Technoport and SnT join forces with other partners for the international space hackathon Act In Space, created by the The National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) and the European Space Agency (ESA). The Luxembourg edition, organised by Technoport and InTech, brought together international talent and Greater Region players to solve space challenges. As part of the initiative, SnT’s LunaLab created a challenge about lunar rover configuration for exploratory missions to the Moon.
