The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust would like to welcome you and academic and industry leaders from Luxembourg to an in-depth technical presentation about asteroids led by experts traveling from around the world. Get insights into asteroids including space missions, computational tools to find, track and deflect asteroids, the state of the world with respect to United Nations asteroid initiatives and much more.

This program is part of the United Nations International Asteroid Day campaign. The program is developed by the Asteroid Foundation, a new Luxembourg nonprofit and with collaboration with SnT and the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR).

Rusty Schweickart : Introductions and personal story his Apollo mission and his asteroid passion.

Dr. Ed Lu : Developing computational engine to build a dynamic map of asteroids in our solar system using cloud based tools and advances analytical tools.

Dr. Alan Fitzsimmons : How performing observations of minor bodies in our solar system, comets and asteroids is done today, what we are learning about asteroids including case studies of new discoveries.

Dr. Marc Boslaugh : Latest research on the possible effects of asteroid-driven tsunamis striking a coast, should an asteroid strike the ocean directly or explode above its waters and cutting edge visualizations to understand scale of asteroid impacts.

Dr. Dorin Prunariu : How the United Nations works to support asteroid related political and scientific efforts to increase our understanding and global strategies to respond to the opportunities and threats related to asteroids.
