In recent decades, corporations and researchers have been developing artificial intelligence tools with the aim to streamline processes and boost efficiency. The sophisticated technologies have revolutionist countless industries, with software that can mimic human intelligence. But as the desire for automated tools in our society grows, the need for strong cybersecurity practices becomes all the more important.
Tools nowadays can integrate speech and facial recognition – even allow for automated stock trading – but they’re not foolproof solutions impervious to hacking and malware attacks. In fact, as technology becomes more capable, so do attackers.
SnT’s research groups TruX and Security Design and Validation (SerVal) have been working on identifying the caveats of cybersecurity in AI and finding solutions to counteract hacker attacks on systems.
