You’re invited to the first FinTech Meetup of 2023, from the SnT Finnovation Hub!
This meetup will take place on Monday, 6 February 2023 at 11:30 in JFK, room E004/005 on the ground floor. Thibault Simonetto, a PhD candidate at SerVal will present you with the Threats to AI/ML models in finance and the defense mechanism to counter them.
Abstract: AI/ML systems are deployed in many fields, among them some critical industries like finance, healthcare, and cybersecurity. Incidents have been reported with autonomous cars crashing due to the failure of image recognition systems, or chatbots from Twitter and Meta reporting fake facts and using racist language due to learning from interactions with malicious users.
Research has discovered that these unexpected behaviours appear as failure modes for AI systems from blind spots that can be exploited from attackers. Many techniques are developed to discover potential ways of attacking ML/AI systems and preparing for suitable defenses.
