Maïte Franco is a Doctoral candidate working at the Institute for Health and Behaviour within the Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences of the University of Luxembourg.

She studied psychology at the University of Luxembourg and completed exchanges at the University of Québec-Chicoutimi (Canada) and the University of Bamberg (Germany). She completed internships in clinical, forensic, and neuro-psychology at local hospitals and completed her Master of Science degree in Psychology with focus on psychological intervention in 2020.

While completing her studies at the university, she had started on working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and collected training and experience in different therapeutic techniques which inspired her for her scientific research. In September 2020, she started her PhD studies under the supervision of Dr. Andreia Costa, in which she continues her research from her Master thesis and explores the relationships between social skills, emotional ability, multilingualism, academic performance, and parental well-being in children with autism in Luxembourg.
