Ajay Singh joined the "Scanning Probe Microscopy Laboratory" research group, led by Prof. Alex Redinger, at the Department of Physics and Materials Science at the University of Luxembourg in July 2021. He is part of the FNR ATTRACT project "Surface and interface science on photovoltaic materials (SUNSPOT)". His current research work focuses on developing high-efficiency, lead-free perovskite solar cells.
He did his Ph.D. at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, where he worked on investigating charge transport in organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite and dye-sensitized solar cells. He works on photovoltaic devices by using both experimental and numerical simulation methods. By using drift-diffusion and optoelectronic simulations, he also investigates other nanoelectronic devices, such as LEDs, transistors, nanowires, thermoelectric devices.
His main objective is to combine the knowledge of device physics, nanoelectronics, and material science to develop renewable energy technologies, such as solar cells and thermoelectric devices.
