Research Associate, member of the Parallel Computing and Optimization Group - pcog.uni.lu
Main role since 2014: development, management and growth of the UL HPC platform that enables and accelerates research and innovation at the UL faculties and Interdisciplinary centres for national and international projects.
The UL HPC platform has expanded from 43.2 TFlops in 2014 to over 415 TFlops in 2018.
Deep and hands-on involvement in all UL HPC projects - from strategic planning of new facilities to making them a reality for UL researchers.
Close interaction with all UL research groups and their external partners in order to make their applications work efficiently on the HPC platform.
National and International Memberships:
- European Technology Platform for HPC (ETP4HPC) – etp4hpc.eu
◦ Member and UL central contact point for the ETP4HPC Work Groups, I participate in 7 WG: HPC System Architecture & Components, Systems Software & Management, Programming Environment, Energy & Resilience, Balance Compute I/O & Storage Performance, Big Data & HPC Use Models, Extreme-scale demonstrators;
◦ Work on proposals for the European Commission’s HPC Work Programme 2018-20;
◦ Work on the 3rd Strategic Research Agenda (SRA3): outline roadmap for the achievement of exascale capabilities by the European HPC ecosystem. Milestones used to define the contents of the HPC Technology R&D Work Programmes managed by the European Commission.
- ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 39: Sustainability for and by Information Technology – iso.org
◦ ILNAS: Registered expert as national ICT standardization delegate;
◦ Participation to the standardization process on multi-year drafting process.
