General Mathematics Seminar

The General Mathematics Seminar is a central joint event of the Mathematics Research Unit of the University of Luxembourg (RMATH). It aims at contributing to exchanges between all the groups of RMATH through the organisation of various talks by external mathematicians, focusing on trends and results of global interest for RMATH and researchers from closely related fields. In particular, this seminar is directed towards a large audience, including Ph.D. students, post-doctoral researchers and professors. In the established international atmosphere of RMATH, it promotes a dynamic that is meant to strongly stimulate joint research efforts between algebra, number theory, geometry, the mathematical theory of quantisation, harmonic analysis, probability theory and mathematical modelling.

The seminar sessions usually take place on Tuesday. The schedule is as follows:

- 3:30 pm – 4:00 pm: A general coffee break is offered to the members of the research unit and to their guests in the open space of discussions of the first floor of the RMATH building (Bloc G, Campus Kirchberg);

- 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm: All the members of RMATH are cordially invited to attend the talk of the speaker, which includes a short questions session. This usually takes place in the room B02 of Campus Kirchberg.
