My research interests are in the fields of (critical) migration studies and political sociology – especially the topics of protest and social movements as well as political socialization. Furthermore, I'm interested in gender studies, inequality research as well as in social and labor market policy. The unifying cognitive interest of my research is the mutual relationship between powerful discourses and their impacts as well as their (re-)production on the level of individuals. I approach these topics from the perspective of qualitative social research. In particular, I draw on biographical research and the sociology of knowledge approach to discourses.
