I am Associate professor in Computer Science at the University of Luxembourg. Moreover, I am also working as the manager of the Service Informatique de l'Université (SIU).
I started my university life as a student of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Saarland (Saarbrücken, Germany) and received a Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Saarland in 1995. Then I became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for Computational Number Theory and Cryptography at the Department of Combinatorics & Optimization, University of Waterloo, Canada (1995 - 1996), and a Postdoctoral Lecturer in the Computer Science Department at the University of Technology, Darmstadt, Germany (1996 - 1998). From 1998 - 2005, I worked as a Lecturer in the Bachelor Program in Computer Science Department at Duta Wacana Christian University and in the Master Program of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Gadjah Mada State University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I also supported a development project sponsored by the Protestant Church of Germany as Consultant for Sustainable University Development for these two Indonesian institutions. I have written publications in various international journals (Crypto 2000, Eurocrypt 1996, Journal of Cryptology, Algorithmic Number Theory Symposium 1994, 1996, Journal of Experimental Mathematics, Mathematics of Computation) and worked as reviewer for several international scientific publishers. In 2004, I was chosen as scientific advisor for a "Proposal for an Indonesian Law on Electronic Signatures" in Indonesia.
My main research interests are in computational number theoretic problems concerning elliptic curves and their applications in public key cryptography. Moreover, recently I started to examine application of security primitives in business applications and "practical" security problems in applications in a heterogeneous academic environment.
