Who are you and where are you from? I’m Anoushé Husain, born and grew up in Luxembourg, I’m British and Luxembourgish. What did you study beforehand? I studied in the European School of Luxembourg, then did my BA in translation studies in French, Chinese and English, living in Brussels and Beijing.

Why did you decide to join the European Governance Master Programme?
I had always wanted an international relations or politics programme. I was planning on focussing on this for my MA. I had a place at Warwick (UK) and Luxembourg, I chose Luxembourg partly because my parents live there and I have the use of my car as my health was not great. Mainly because the programme focussed on Europe and I wanted to specialise in that.
What did you enjoy most about the programme ?
I enjoyed the wide variety of subjects I could study and opportunities to meeting practitioners.
What is it that you do now and did the degree help in your career path?
Since starting my MA I have working in the Luxembourgish Parliament, then European Parliament, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (UK) leading the marketing for a Renewable Heat Incentive scheme for industry, leading the transposition of a directive and policy design of carbon leakage for Phase IV EU ETS negotiations and now am leading on a variety of projects in the Nuclear Resilience and Assurance Directorate at the Department, on promotion, also leading on all EU engagement.
How did you like Luxembourg?
Luxembourg is home, so I love it.
What were your best memories?
Too many to count.
