Aide financière du MengStudien

L’aide financière MengStudien du ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche peut accorder des aides financières aux étudiants inscrits dans un cycle d’études supérieures et qui remplissent une des conditions suivantes :

Être luxembourgeois ou membre de la famille d'un ressoritissant luxembourgeois et résider au Luxembourg

Être membre de l'Union Européenne, de l'Espace économique européen ou de la confédération suisse et séjourner au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg en qualité de travailleur salarié, de travailleur non salarié, de personne qui garde ce statut ou de membre de famille de l’une des catégories de personnes ou avoir acquis le droit de séjour permanent

Être ressortissant d'un État tiers ou apatride, résider au Luxembourg depuis 5 ans et détenir un diplôme de fin d'études secondaires équivalent au diplôme luxembourgeois

Être réfugié politique et résider au Luxembourg

Être enfant d'un ressortissant luxembouregois ou ressortissant de l'Union européenne ou d'un autre Etat partie à l'Accord sur l'espace économique européen ou de la Confédération suisse travaillant ou exerçant sa profession au Luxembourg depuis une durée ininterrompue d'au moins cinq ans et à raison de 50% de la durée de travail légale ou conventionnelle au moment de la demande.

L’aide financière pour études supérieures est de 13.000 euros par année académique. Elle est en principe composée d’une bourse et d’un prêt étudiant à taux d'intérêt fixe de 2%. Elle est non cumulable avec d'éventuelles aides financières obtenues dans le pays de résidence.
Les frais d’inscription peuvent également être pris en compte lors du calcul de l’aide financière, sans excéder un maximum de 3.700 € par année académique.

Bourse Erasmus +

Uniquement pour les étudiants effectuant leur semestre de mobilité dans le cadre du programme Erasmus +, dans une institution située au delà de la Grande-Région.

Bourse Fonds de mobilité

Le Fonds de mobilité s’adresse aux étudiants de Bachelor qui ne bénéficient pas du statut Erasmus +, pour des mobilités effectuées au delà de la Grande-Région.

Guillaume Dupaix International Scholarship

The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research are funding a talent support programme. The Guillaume Dupaix International Master’s Scholarship aims to attract high-achieving international students who wish to follow a master’s programme at the University of Luxembourg, or international exchange students who wish to pursue one or two semester of studies at the University of Luxembourg.

Eligibility criteria

• International applicants both from EU and non-EU countries applying to a master’s degree
• Exchange students from partner universities outside Europe
• Excellent academic performance during undergraduate studies
• Non-beneficiaries of Luxembourg’s CEDIES

Eligible programmes

This scholarship is offered to students from all study programmes opened to exchange students within the agreement between their institution and the University of Luxembourg. Master candidates can visit the webpages of each faculty to learn about eligible Master programmes: 

• Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF)
• Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE)
• Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM)

Financial support

The stipend amounts to 5.146€ per semester and is paid in two instalments per academic year at the beginning of each semester for a maximum of two years (two semesters for exchange students). Payment is subject to performance evaluation and may be withheld, for example, in the case of academic misconduct, poor results or withdrawal from the master's programme. Tuition fees are not included in the scholarship for regular Master students, exchange students are exempted from tuition fees at the University of Luxembourg. The scholarship cannot be cumulated with any other type of grant financed by the Luxembourg government, or a similar scholarship funded by a private sponsors.

Application procedure for Master students

Applying for a scholarship is a two-step process.

1. In a first stage, applicants must apply to a Master's degree through the online admission portal, please click here
2. Once the application to the master’s degree is completed, applicants meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned above can apply to the scholarship following this link

Applicants must provide the following documents to be considered for the scholarship:

• CV
• Motivation letter
• Two letters of academic or professional recommendation with contact details
• A copy of the email received by the University of Luxembourg confirming the successful submission of your master’s application (If you have applied to more than one master’s programme, please attach one confirmation email per master’s programme application)

Applicants are selected based on:

• high academic achievements
• originality and motivation of their application
• positive feedback from the recommendation letters

Please note that due to the high volume of applications received, only selected applicants will be notified, at the latest by 2 June 2023.

Application deadline: 24 April 2023

The selection of applicants for the scholarship is an ongoing process taking place during the admission period. Outstanding applicants may also be selected before the application deadline.

Application procedure for exchange students

Exchange students will be informed about their eligibility for the scholarship and the application procedure directly by the International Relations Office of their home university.
