Description of the trainings:

Writing a Systematic Literature Review

A systematic literature review is a type of literature review that uses systematic methods to collect secondary data, critically appraise research studies, and synthesize findings qualitatively or quantitatively. The process of conducting a systematic literature review includes identifying a research question, searching for relevant literature, appraising studies for relevance and quality, and synthesizing the evidence to answer the research question.

This training will provide you with an introduction to the fundamentals of conducting a systematic literature review. It will cover the different steps in the process, from understanding the scope of the review, to searching and evaluating documents, to synthesizing and writing the review. You will learn how to search for relevant documents, how to evaluate them for relevance and quality, and how to organize the review. Additionally, you will know how to write the review using appropriate language and structure.

Writing a Research Paper

A research paper is a type of academic writing that presents a writer's original research on a particular topic and analyzes the findings from an objective standpoint. Research papers generally follow a specific structure and include elements such as an introduction, literature review, methodology, results, and discussion. The purpose of a research paper is to demonstrate a student's understanding of a given topic, as well as their ability to synthesize and analyze information from multiple sources.

Writing a research paper is a complex process that involves researching, drafting, writing, and editing. It is important for students to understand the different steps in the process and to approach each step with care.

This training teaches you how to select a topic, gather relevant information and resources, organise the paper, write a thesis statement, and outline the paper. By the end of the training, participants should have the skills necessary to craft a well-structured, well-written research paper.

Doing a Literature Review

A literature review is an analysis of existing literature on a particular topic. It is used to identify and analyze the existing research on a topic, to summarize and synthesize existing knowledge, and to identify gaps in the literature. When writing a literature review, a researcher should examine the existing research related to the topic, identify key ideas and findings, synthesize the research, and draw conclusions. The review should also provide an evaluation of the literature, as well as provide a summary of the existing literature.

Writing a literature review can be time-consuming and challenging, but it is an important part of academic research. This training will provide you with the skills needed to conduct literature reviews. You will learn how to identify relevant literature, how to search for documents, and how to evaluate and synthesize research. You will also learn how to organize the literature review and write it in a clear and concise manner. Finally, you will learn how to use the literature review to draw conclusions and identify gaps in the existing research.

Referencing & Avoiding Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of using someone else's work or ideas without giving credit to the original source. It is a form of intellectual theft and violates copyright laws. Plagiarism is also unethical and is a form of fraud. It is important to reference sources to avoid plagiarism and to give credit to the original author or creator of the work. Referencing sources also allows readers to verify the accuracy of the information being presented and provides additional context for the work being discussed. Doing so is critical to maintaining the integrity of the work being presented, and helps to ensure that any research conducted is properly cited and attributed.

This training will provide you with an understanding of why referencing and avoiding plagiarism is important in academic writing. You will learn the definition of plagiarism and understand why it is considered a serious academic offence. You will also gain a thorough understanding of how to correctly reference sources, how to avoid plagiarism, and why it is essential to properly reference sources. The training will cover a variety of topics such as understanding the different types of citations, knowing when and how to cite sources, and being aware of the consequences of plagiarism. You will be provided with numerous examples of correctly referencing and avoiding plagiarism in order to develop your skills and gain a deeper understanding of the concept.

Finishing a Research Paper

A good academic paper is one that accurately and comprehensively addresses a research question or issue. It should have a clear, well-defined structure, be well-researched, use appropriate evidence to support its arguments, and be written in an objective, scholarly style. It should also be properly referenced and formatted according to the guidelines of the institution or journal in which it is being published.

This training is designed to help students finish writing their research paper. You will learn how to develop an organized structure for their paper and how to craft an effective argument. Additionally, the training will provide resources and strategies for staying focused and motivated throughout the writing process. Ultimately, the goal of this training would be to help you understand the writing process and be able to effectively communicate their ideas in writing.
