The University of Luxembourg ranked among the top 250 universities worldwide and #4 worldwide for its international outlook in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023.

The University of Luxembourg scores for THE World University Ranking 2023 are as follows:
- Research: The University improves its score in the Research category to 39.8 - the highest value ever reached by the University;
- Industry Income: The University improves its score in Industry Income to 51.2 - also the highest score ever achieved by the University;
- International Outlook: With a score of 99.4 in the International Outlook category, the University of Luxembourg highlights its place among the world leaders;
- Teaching: In the Teaching category, the University score improves from 33 to 38.2;
- Citations: in the Citations category, the score displays a slight change from 65.7 to 64.5.

Accreditations/Certifications/Endorsements
ACQUIN Accreditation
In 2021, the following programmes have been accredited by the German Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute, ACQUIN, which is renowned for carrying out assessments and accreditations in the European higher education sector to ensure the comparability of the quality of higher education qualifications.

DGPs quality seal
The Bachelor en Psychologie received the quality seal from the German Psychological Society (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psycholgie, DGPs).
The DGPs is an incorporated association of qualified psychologists engaged in research and teaching with the goal to advance and expand scientific psychology.
The DGPs quality seal is given to Bachelor degree programmes that meet the international standards in terms of structure and content as well as scientific and research orientation.
EMOS certification
The Master in Finance & Economics offered at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance was certified by the European Master of Official Statistics (EMOS) network in 2016.
Universities offering EMOS Master degrees collaborate actively with the national statistical institutes to reduce the gap between theory and practice. The programme is supported by Luxembourg national statistics institute STATEC.
FIBAA accreditation
Five Master programmes offered at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance have been accredited at the end of 2015 and for a period of five years by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA):
- the Master in Finance & Economics;
- the Master of Science in Banking and Finance;
- the Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation;
- the Master in Wealth Management;
- the Master in Accounting and Audit.

FIBAA was created in 1994 by the central associations of German, Austrian and Swiss business. This European foundation with an international profile aims at ensuring the quality of MBA programmes on the basis of stringent quality criteria and make it transparent. Its disciplinary focus is on management studies, law, social sciences and economics.
ISO Certification
The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) is certified to ISO 9001 standard, an international quality assurance standard issued by the European Society for Certification of Management Systems (ESCEM), for its administration and the administrative management of its activities.
The quality management system (QMS) implemented throughout the Faculty’s administration is based on three key objectives:
- Improving the transparency of the organisation and running of the Faculty;
- Ensuring the efficiency of administrative processes and their continuity;
- Meeting the expectations of students, teaching and research staff, the University’s other staff as well as in general all the Faculty’s partners.

ISBER endorsed
The Certificate - Principles of Biobanking offered at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine was endorsed from its creation in 2011 by the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories (ISBER).
ISBER is a global forum that addresses harmonization of scientific, technical, legal, and ethical issues relevant to repositories of biological and environmental specimens. It fosters collaboration; creates education and training opportunities; provides a forum for the dissemination of state-of-the-art policies, processes, and research findings; and provides an international showcase for innovative technologies, products, and services. Together, these activities promote best practices that cut across the broad range of repositories that ISBER serves.
ISBER is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
