Civil Law

The FDEF’s Civil Law research group’s objectives are:

• to contribute to the knowledge and development of Luxembourg civil law;
• to spread that knowledge and understanding abroad.

Largely due to Luxembourg’s historical relationships with its neighbours, the individual and collective research undertaken by the group’s members is necessarily and inherently developed from a comparative law perspective, looking primarily but not exclusively at French and Belgian Civil Law, with which Luxembourg Civil Law shares a large community of sources.
