The LCL is a member of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s global SCALE (Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence) Network, an international alliance of leading-edge research and education centres dedicated to the development and dissemination of global innovation in logistics and supply chain management.

The Global SCALE initiated by MIT allows faculty, researchers, students, and affiliated companies from all centres:

• to pool their expertise;
• to collaborate on projects that will create supply chain and logistics innovations with global applications;
• to help companies to compete in an increasingly complex business environment.

SCALE Connect Conference — the on-site experience During the month of January, students from all centres travel to MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, to participate in the MIT SCALE Connect Conference (also called IAP). This unique conference organized by MIT gives students the freedom to:
attend seminars by supply chain experts who provide a practical perspective on real-world and leadership issues, visit companies to experience supply chain and logistics systems, present their Master thesis work, collaborate with Masters students at the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics (MIT CTL). Please note: Travelling to MIT for the purpose of the SCALE Connect Conference is subject to the student obtaining the necessary B-US visa. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain the visa. The LSCM Master team assists each student by providing supporting documentation.
