
Dual-sourcing strategies for carbon efficient supply chains

Melvin Drent joined the Luxembourg Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL) as a full-time PhD student in November 2017. He holds a BSc degree in Industrial Engineering and an MSc degree in Operations Management and Logistics. Both degrees were obtained Cum Laude from the Eindhoven University of Technology. His Master thesis addressed integrated spare part control and repair optimization in a complex network and was supervised by LCL Associate Prof. Joachim Arts. This thesis was awarded with the Dow Chemical prize for the best Master thesis in the field of Operations Management and Logistics defended at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the academic year 2016-2017. Melvin’s current research focuses on dual-sourcing strategies; particularly the application of such strategies to create carbon efficient supply chains. This PhD research is supervised by Associate Prof. Joachim Arts. Learn more about the LCL research. |
