PAT-LAB: Psychological Assessment and Testing Laboratory
The Psychological Assessment and Testing Laboratory (PAT-LAB) is part of the Institute for Health and Behaviour within the Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences. Prof. Dr. Georges Steffgen is the head of the lab and it is administered by Dr. Andreia Costa.
The PAT-LAB provides a collection of psychological assessment and testing tools such as questionnaires and tests for supporting research and teaching. The PAT-LAB is available for researchers to conduct assessments using the different psychological tests as well as a multitude of computerized tests available through the Vienna Test System. The PAT-LAB provides also students with an opportunity to get to know the tools used in psychological assessment.
The PAT-LAB comprises assessment tools on a variety of psychological domains such as learning disabilities, mood, anxiety and personality disorders, quality of life, sport, human resources, work environment, and traffic. The tools are suitable for children, adolescents, adults, and elderly people and are available in German, French, English, or Luxembourgish.

Who can borrow and/or use an assessment tool?
Lecturers, researchers, and students in psychology from the University of Luxembourg.
What are the rules for using and administering an assessment tool?
Each assessment tool has its rules concerning administration and copyright that you should check before using it. The ethical principles of psychologists and the code of conduct defined by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Association can be found here.
How to borrow a test?
- Consult the test’s availability on the PAT-LAB list: https://psy-lab.librarika.com/ (no need to sign up)
- Pick up the test at the PAT-LAB
- Come by the PAT-LAB either on Thursdays or Fridays from 9am to 1pm
- If you cannot come on these days, send an email to pat.lab@uni.lu to arrange an appointment
- Tests are borrowed for 1 month but can be extended upon request
Where is the PAT-LAB?
The PAT-LAB is located on the 1st floor of the Maison des Sciences Humaines (MSH) in Campus Belval.
Please be aware that access to the lab areas is restricted to authorized personnel. If you do not have access, please call the PAT-LAB phone number (see below) to announce your presence.
