Certificate - Principles of Biobanking

This multidisciplinary course is targeted at students, educators, researchers and practitioners who are custodians of, or have an interest in, biological resources and biospecimens stored in biobanks and biorepositories for the purposes of research and their application in various communities of practice (e.g. clinical, biological, biodiversity environmental). The course will provide theoretical and applied knowledge related to the common principles, skills and basic operations required to create new biobanks and develop existing ones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent & having a vested interest in biobanking
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Acceptance upon CV, application letter and letters of recommendation for applicants, in connection with eventual visa and entry requirements, addressed to Dr Fay Betsou, Integrated Biobank of Luxembourg (IBBL).
  • The selection will be carried out by a committee of representatives of the IBBL and the University of Luxembourg. the course is presently designed for 35 students/year.
  • Minimum requirement for acceptation is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
