Master in Wealth Management

The MWM’s curriculum is designed around the principal dimensions of the wealth management business, including investment products, investor preferences and client attributes, as well as essential additional topics, such as legal structures, taxation, strategy, governance and compliance.

The programme is organised intro modules, which group the different courses.

Semester 1:

  • Quantitative Methods
  • Financial Theory
  • Investment Products

Semester 2:

  • Advanced Investment Products
  • Investor Topics
  • Tax and Legal Topics

Semester 3:

  • Law and Compliance

Semester 4:

  • Advance Topics in Finance
  • Internship
  • Master thesis

Students complete a three to six-month internship in the wealth management sector. Each student has to submit either a business field report about the internship or a Master thesis. In both cases, the topic is coordinated between the student, the programme director of the Master, and the company supervisor. The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance provides some support to students in obtaining a placement as well as drawing up internship contracts between the hosting institution and the student. A Master thesis is an independent piece of research that should showcase a thorough understanding of the chosen topic as well as the appropriate research methodology.

The Master in Wealth Management has a strong professional orientation, delivering a tailor-made programme dealing with all aspects of the Luxembourg wealth management sector. Around half of the courses are taught by practitioners from Luxembourg’s financial centre.
