Ferrero Fellowship
The Ferrero Fellowship is a talent support programme founded in 2017 as part of a partnership between the Ferrero HQ in Luxembourg and the University of Luxembourg. The Fellowship consists of a stipend and the opportunity to carry out an internship at the company.
The Fellowship is awarded to outstanding EU and non-EU applicants from the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance’s Master programmes.
Applications for the 2022-2023 are now open and will close on 16 October 2022.
Eligibility criteria
The Ferrero Fellowship is open to students in the following Master programmes:
- Master in Accounting and Audit
- Master in Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Master in European Law
- Master in Finance and Economics
Applicants must be enrolled in the first year of one these Master programmes at the time of applying for the Fellowship.
Application procedure
All candidates must submit an application to ferrerofellowship@uni.lu including:
- Personal statement/motivation letter
- CV
- Academic record (simple copies of undergraduate diplomas or other educational certificates)
The call for applications opens at the start of the academic year and will be communicated to eligible students accordingly.
Selection
Shortlisted candidates are invited to interview with a Ferrero selection committee. In addition, their applications will be assessed by the programme directors of the respective Master programmes.
Laureates are chosen based on:
- Academic achievement
- Civic engagement, volunteer work or other extracurricular activities
- Originality of the personal statement and motivation for applying
- Language skills (English is mandatory, any additional language is an asset)
Allocation of stipend
The Fellowship stipend is aimed at financially supporting promising students, allowing them to focus on their academic and relevant extracurricular work. The stipend is paid in instalments (€2,700 at the end of each semester) for the regular duration of study. Payment is subject to a performance assessment and can be withheld, for example in case of academic misconduct, poor results or withdrawal from the Master programme.
Detailed terms and conditions are set out in an agreement signed between the laureate, the University of Luxembourg and Ferrero upon selection of the successful candidates.
Internship
During their second year of study, Fellowship laureates will be given the opportunity to complete an internship at the Ferrero HQ in Luxembourg. Internships will be allocated in agreement with the host company and are subject to an internship contract, signed between the student, the University of Luxembourg and Ferrero.
The Ferrero HQ in Luxembourg is home to numerous business functions of the company and reasonable effort will be made to assign placements according to the career interests and ambitions of the Fellowship laureates.
