Financial support

The stipend amounts to EUR 5,146 per semester and is paid in two installments per academic year at the beginning of each semester for a maximum of two years.

Payment is subject to performance evaluation and may be withheld, for example, in the case of academic misconduct, poor results or withdrawal from the master's programme.

The scholarship includes free accommodation in a university residence for the duration of the Master programme, up to a maximum of EUR 650/month for a maximum of two years.

Tuition fees are not included in the scholarship and must be paid separately by the student.

The scholarship cannot be cumulated with any other type of grant financed by the Luxembourg government, or a similar scholarship funded by a private sponsor.

Application procedure

Applying for a scholarship is a two-step process.

  1. In a first stage, applicants must apply to a master's degree through the online admission portal on the following link: https://inscription.uni.lu/Inscriptions/Public/Admission
During this process, applicants submit all documents required by the master’s programme (please consult the admission requirements indicated on the FDEF master’s programme webpage). Applicants then receive a notification to pay the 50€ admission fee, which is a prerequisite to apply to the scholarship.

Once the admission fees are paid, applicants receive an e-mail notification confirming their application is successfully submitted. Please note that some applicants may be exempt from paying the 50€ admission fee. In this case, they still receive an email confirmation that their application is successfully submitted.

In all cases, this e-mail notification will be requested when applying to the scholarship, as described hereafter.

  2. Once the application to the master’s degree is completed, outstanding applicants will be contacted with further instructions and receive the link to the online scholarship application form.

By submitting the online scholarship application form together with the required documents (will be specified in instructional email), applicants will be considered for the scholarship.

  3. After a careful review of the application documents, a selection committee will choose the scholarship recipients and the selected candidates will be informed by email of their results in due time.

Applicants are selected based on:

  • Academic results
  • The originality of the personal statement and the motivation of their application.

Please note that due to the high volume of applications received, only selected applicants will be notified, at the latest by mid-June 2023.

Master Applications received by 20 April 2023 will be considered for the scholarship.

The selection of applicants for the scholarship is an ongoing process taking place during the admission period. Outstanding applicants may also be selected before the application deadline.
Selected applicants will sign a Scholarship Agreement, including a declaration of honour in acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Guillaume Dupaix International Master’s Scholarship.
