High-level students have been recruited for the third cohort of the Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with backgrounds in procurement, computer science, accounting, international business and economics, logistics, biotechnology and engineering.

Their average work experience is seven years in firms and institutions such as ArcelorMittal, RollsRoyce Manufacturing, ExxonMobil, UN Women, Ceratizit, Luxport, John Deere, Iranian Space Agency, Tata Motors, Fedex, Marex Spectron, Nasdaq Commodities.

The Master programme has been created in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Transportation and Logistics (MIT CTL).

The one-year Master in Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme is open to students from a variety of professional backgrounds, looking to specialise in logistics and supply chain management. Selected candidates join the international and multilingual student body of the University of Luxembourg.

As part of the programme, students:

•    spend three weeks at the MIT in Boston. They take classes together with students from across the Global SCALE Network’s centres;

•    write a Master thesis, based on a research project carried out in cooperation with a partner company.

This enables students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the chosen topic while gaining experience via an application to a real-world setting.

In the past academic year, the students could work on research topics such as:

  • Reduction of C02 emissions in supply chain networks by optimization
  • Customer-support pricing model
  • Predictive model for truck availability.

Student recruitment for the 2019-20 academic year is now open.
