The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance is seeking to appoint for its Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL) an Outreach Officer / Partnership Developer.

The Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LCL), which is a member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global SCALE Network, is a cornerstone in the Duchy of Luxembourg’s overarching plan to maintain and improve the country’s position as a leader in logistics and supply chain management.

The LCL motto—Innovate, Impact, Inspire!—guides the centre through its excellence-focused research, outreach and teaching activities.

The core educational programme at the LCL is a one-year professional master in logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) incorporating a 4-week visit to the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA, and engaging industry partners in applied thesis projects. The master programme attracts diverse, high calibre students, with graduates securing positions in companies such as Amazon, ExxonMobil, and Cargolux.  As the LCL also has a growing PhD programme, the candidate will engage in developing and delivering graduate (masters and doctoral) level classes, as well as executive level education in supply chain management, logistics, and related fields.

The LCL has an active outreach programme with a focus on developing partnerships with industry and universities throughout Luxembourg and Europe.  A conference is hosted on an annual basis alongside executive education, roundtables and other outreach activities, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of and play active role in these activities.

Your Role

The outreach officer drives and oversees the outreach strategy and activities, which includes establishing and maintaining strong relations with the industry, the MIT and the SCALE network. The outreach officer reports formally to the Faculty Administration and coordinates with the LCL director on a daily basis.

Main accountabilities:

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with corporate partners for sponsored research projects and partnership programmes,
  • Secures and maintains the exchange with the MIT and other SCALE members,
  • Supports the outreach programmes that relate to educational activities,
  • Organises partnerships events, the eXplore conference, roundtables, industry seminar series, and tailor made courses,
  • Supports the team of the LCL in developing and implementing the full range of outreach activities for different stakeholders and audiences,
  • Investigates and assesses future developments and trends of logistics and supply chain management,
  • Benchmarks best practices of outreach activities,
  • Liaises closely with all internal stakeholders involved in outreach activities,
  • Involves in setting up and maintaining the CRM tool,
  • Travelling abroad Luxembourg might be requested on an occasional basis,
  • Attending events that take place out of the regular working hours on an occasional basis,
  • Supports outreach activities at the faculty level.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in business administration or other relevant disciplines and/or professional experience in outreach and project management
  • Proven relationship management experience in developing and maintaining industry networks
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management industry is considered as an advantage
  • Ability to work in an international, multicultural and multilingual environment
  • Team player with strong organisation and self-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build positive relationships at a number of levels
  • Fluency in English and either French or German is required; knowledge of the other language is considered as an advantage.
