… by the COVID-19 pandemic and Luxembourg’s initiative for resilient Supply Chain Management

On July 16th, LCL Director Professor Benny Mantin joined the leadership of the Luxembourg Trade & Investment Office in Tokyo for a Japanese webinar about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on supply chains.

For the Japanese audience, parallels were drawn between the Luxembourg experience as presented in the results of the Work Package 13 (logistics and supply chains) of Research Luxembourg (as part of the COVID-19 Task Force). 

In a previous survey, Japanese global manufacturing companies also highlighted the challenges of supply chain management during the pandemic.

Among several proposals, a “national control tower” project with AI and digital twin technology has already been initiated by the University of Luxembourg, LIST and other actors by receiving National Research Funding. Japan is looking to adopt a similar project.
