Prof. Dirk Zetzsche, ADA Chair in Financial Law (Inclusive Finance), has emerged among the top 30 legal scholars worldwide, according to the Social Science Research Network (SSRN).

Measured by new downloads over the past 12 months, the April 2018 SSRN ranking, sees Prof. Zetzsche in 29th place, one of only three European academics mentioned in the top 30.

Prof. Zetzsche specialises in law and regulation of financial technologies (FinTech) as well as their application in inclusive finance contexts. In 2017, he embarked on a research cooperation with Prof. Douglas Arner (Hong Kong University, China) and Prof. Ross Buckley (UNSW Sydney, Australia).

Together, the three experts in FinTech and regulatory technology (RegTech) have published papers on data-driven finance, initial coin offerings (ICOs), distributed ledgers and the risks of blockchain, and regulatory sandboxes.

Prof. Zetzsche spend several months at UNSW Sydney in 2017, funded by an FNR INTER Mobility grant, to deepen the collaboration.

Prof. Arner and Prof. Buckley also rank highly in the SSRN’s top law authors listing, on placed 18 and 17, respectively.
