This conference will bring together scholars and various stakeholders from Europe and the United States to explore the challenges that arise with the collection and transfer of digital evidence.

In the first session, specific online enforcement challenges will be mapped by bringing together academics and the Luxembourgish Minister of Justice, Mr Felix Braz. The second session will delve deeper into the specific challenges for policy makers and will include inter alia the EU Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and Consumer Protection, Ms Vera Jourova, and the Belgium Minister of Justice, Mr Koen Geens. The third session will take the example of enforcement in the field of IP Law to draw lessons that might serve other domains of online evidence collection. The fourth session will discuss the shortcomings that arise with the use of MLA instruments in the collection of evidence with a view towards creative solutions. In the final session key actors in the New York Microsoft case and commentators from the US will discuss the limitations on collection of online evidence in the US/European context following the Microsoft case.
