Postdoctoral researchers Michal Burzynski and Imen Derouiche received the Best Paper Award presented annually by the Centre for Research in Economics and Management (CREA) to two if its junior researchers.

Michal Burzynski was awarded the prize for his paper “The Welfare Impact of Global Migration in OECD Countries”, co-authored with Amandine Aubry (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) and Frederic Docquier (Université catholique de Louvain) and published in the Journal of International Economics.

The second award was given to Imen Derouiche for her work on “Firm geographic location and voluntary disclosure” written with Kaouther Jafaar and Ahmed Zemzem (both University of Sousse) and published in the Journal of Multinational Financial Management.

The award is based on information from Scopus, an abstract and citation database. This selection method was proposed by CREA’s junior researchers who played an important role in devising an award that would be helpful for them in their work.

The recipients receive additional funding to cover expenses for travel to conferences, participation in workshops or other activities related to their field.
