Zoé Konsbruck is a PhD Candidate at the C²DH working on the history of deindustrialization in Luxembourg.

Her research project „Reconversion: From Manufacturing to Knowledge“ focuses on changing spaces and life worlds during the deindustrialization of the steel industry. The goal is to go beyond a history of ruins and factory closings and focus on industrial workers' life situations and experiences.

The research is embedded in a broader project, “Confronting Decline” (CONDE), coordinated by the Institut für Zeitgeschichte (IfZ) in Munich, which looks at the challenges of deindustrialization in western societies since the 1970s.

Zoé holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history from the Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität in Munich (LMU). Her research interests lie in cultural history, spatial history, and the history of technology.
