Michel Beine has been Full Professor in International Economics at the University of Luxembourg since September 2005.
He graduated in Economics at the University of Namur, Belgium (1991) and got a PhD in Economics at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1997). His PhD thesis studied the desirability of the European Monetary Union.
He has been a
researcher at the Service d’Etudes et de Statistiques of the Walloon region
, during which time he specialized in economic forecasting.
After his thesis, he lectured at the University of Lille II (France) until his arrival at the University of Luxembourg. Since 2000, he has also taught Monetary Theory at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
